TIC Mall S-Carbon Terms & Conditions
- Applicability: These terms and conditions apply to the S-Carbon subscription. For detailed information, please refer to terms & conditions.
- Reporting Period: The reporting period will align with either the fiscal year or the calendar year, covering any 12-month duration. Once a reporting period commences, quantification and reporting for that period must be completed before initiating the next reporting period.
- Payment Terms: All payments from the Client must be settled before SGS delivers the account to the Client via TIC Mall. Additionally, if the Client wishes to continue the subscription prior to the next reporting period, advance payment is required. The SGS operations team will notify the Client via a separate email regarding the renewal one month in advance before the end of subscription.
- Scope Changes: Any changes to the scope after the first reporting year may incur additional charges.
- Service Renewal: If the Client chooses not to renew the S-Carbon service after the contract period, access to S-Carbon will remain valid for at least an additional six months. SGS reserves the right to suspend the Client’s access to S-Carbon once the contract period has concluded.
- Additional Accounts: For any additional company accounts related to the aforementioned packages, an extra fee will be charged for platform setup and annual subscription.
- Exclusions: Certification or on-site audits are not included in the project scope and will require a separate quotation. Greenhouse Management Data Input Validation is also an optional service and is not included in the package; a separate quotation will be provided for this service.
- Additional Services: SGS offers a comprehensive range of sustainability solution services, including data assurance, reduction target setting in accordance with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), sustainability reporting services, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report assurance, available upon request.
Q1. Why S-Carbon? What are the differences between S-Carbon and other carbon emission calculators?
S-Carbon supports the calculation from all types of direct and indirect emission sources (Scope 1, 2 & 3) under quantification approach in compliance with ISO 14064-1 and GHG Protocol. It allows you to extend the coverage of your carbon management coverage to the supply chain.
Q2. Is there any geographical location that restricts me from using S-Carbon?
S-Carbon allows all users all over the world to access to the platform.
Q3. I want to migrate my historical Greenhouse Gas data to S-Carbon. Is it possible to do so?
It is allowed to migrate your complete calculated historical data into S-Carbon on your own without extra charge. Users can use the platform to access historical greenhouse gas emissions data, track reduction progress and explore long-term strategies to reduce GHG emissions.
Q4. What are the emission factor databases that S-Carbon adopts?
Well-recognized databases such as UK DEFRA, Ecoinvent, International Energy Agency, and those sector-specific factors published by local government.

ISO 14064-1 and GHG Protocol: Corporate Standard.
Q6. What is the data and intellectual property rights?
The S-Carbon client and authorised users have ownership of the client’s data.
Q7. Will S-Carbon verify my data?
We provide emissions data assurance services at cost. However, we do not offer third-party verification services that comply with ISO 14064-1 or the GHG Protocol, as we are the platform provider for S-Carbon.
