Hong Kong Amends Standards for Toys and Children’s Products

Hong Kong has updated several standards for toys and children’s products. These will become effective on August 1, 2025.
In Hong Kong, toys and children’s products are obliged to comply with all applicable requirements in any one of the safety standards specified in Schedule 1 (Toy Standards) or Schedule 2 (Schedule 2 Product Standards) of the Toys and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance (the Ordinance, Cap.424).
On February 14, 2025, the city issued the Toys and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance (Amendment of Schedules 1 and 2) Notice 2025 to revise the safety standards for toys and seven categories of children’s products under the Ordinance.

A previous revision to Schedules 1 and 2 of the Ordinance was announced in February 2024, with the changes becoming effective in August 2024.
