Service Scope
In general, there is not much mandatory testing for umbrellas but chemical testing only. However, the quality range is board and many of the umbrellas with poor performance are broken in different situations such as under strong wind. Therefore, SGS has designed a series of performance testing to secure the quality of your product.
Here are the related Chemical mandatory testing for compliance. The test will be conducted in compliance with the following standards
- EU REACH Regulation
- Cadmium
- SCCP
- Organotin
- Phthalates
- Perspective
- Azo Dye
- Dimethyl Fumarate (DMFu)
- US Regulation

- Prop 65 Court case
In addition, the following tests will be required as minimum requirements.
- Resistance to Corrosion (Applicable to outdoor use items with metal part)
- Resistance to Corrosion (Upon requested for indoor use items with metal part)
- Colorfastness to Light
- Colorfastness to Water
Advanced quality performance is suggested to show the high performance of the umbrellas which can benchmark against the general market.

Remarks
Only applicable test items will be conducted on selected product nature and destination market. A detailed test item list will be included in order confirmation email upon order purchase. If the battery is included, additional battery requirements shall be arranged.
