Respirator Test Package
Respirator Test Package
From public transport to intensive care units, personal protective equipment (PPE) has never been more important. Protecting people from COVID-19 is the number one priority for individuals, business, organizations and governments. Face masks are now compulsory in many settings.
Respirators are generally used in commercial environments, with most intended for use in construction and other industrial type jobs that expose workers to dust and small particles. Some respirators are intended for use in a health care setting, when respiratory and fluid resistance is required.
Due to their primary commercial use, respirator regulations are the jurisdiction of the country’s workplace safety agency. Regulations define the legal obligations to ensure that respirators provide the minimum level of protection against intended risks. Specific requirements by classification will be contained within regulation or cited in referenced performance standards.
Evaluation areas include (but not limited to):
- Certification and Approval
- Classification Designations
- Marking and Labeling
- Particle Filtration Efficiency
- Breathing Resistance
Our testing and certification services verify your product’s effectiveness and compliance with those regulations relevant to your destination market.
It will be advised in order confirmation email upon purchase
Turnaround Time (working days)
The European standard of EN 149 defines the performance requirements for three classes of particle-filtering half masks:
|Class||Filter penetration limit (at 95 L/min air flow)||Inward leakage||Classification|
|Filters at least 80% of airborne particles||<22%||It is mainly used as a dust mask, which can prevent lung diseases, such as silicosis, anthracnosis and asbestosis.|
|Filters at least 94% of airborne particles||<8%|
This mask effectively stops powdered chemicals and can also serve as protection against respiratory viruses such as avian influenza or severe acute respiratory syndrome. This is mainly used in the glass industry, foundry, construction, pharmaceutical industry and agriculture.
|Filters at least 99% of airborne particles||<2%|
The mask offers the highest filtration of this series. It protects against very fine particles such as asbestos and ceramic. It does not protect against gases and in particular nitrogen oxide.
Designed to provide the wearer with respiratory protection against inhalation of a hazardous atmosphere respirators are designed for the very efficient filtration of airborne particles.
There are many different types and classifications of respirators, which vary depending on the user’s facial coverage and the intended hazardous atmosphere.
Commonly known as a filtering facepiece or half mask, respirators are those masks whose edges are designed to form a seal around the user’s nose and mouth. This tight facial fit is the one primary differences between respirators and surgical masks that are not intended to provide respirator protection.
Examples of these type of respirators in major markets include:
Only applicable test items will be conducted on selected product nature and destination market. Detailed test item list will be included in order confirmation email upon order purchase. If the battery is included, additional battery requirements shall be arranged.
