What is Prop 65?
California Proposition 65 (Prop 65) is a consumer “right-to-know law”. Unless exempted, businesses may not expose individuals to a listed chemical without first giving a “clear and reasonable warning” (a Prop 65 warning), nor discharge a listed chemical into sources of drinking water.
The Act lists more than 800 chemicals “known to the state to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive toxicity”. This list is updated at least annually. Prop 65 affects all consumer products sold or distributed in California, including textiles, footwear, hard goods, DIY products, toys, juvenile products, stationery, electrical/electronic items and more.

Stage 1: Product review, identification of parts and materials of concern & screening testing on high risk chemicals based on SGS database.
Stage 2 (On request): Board-certified toxicologist’s risk evaluation on positive test results based on exposure assessment and safe harbour level.

2 pieces of complete sample + additional components may be required after reviewed the actual sample.

Remarks
Only applicable test items will be conducted on selected product nature and destination market. Detailed test item list will be included in order confirmation email to upon order purchase.
Turnaround time (TAT) and service price are subject to the content specified in the service scope and feature. Failure to provide test-ready samples or application documents would cause a longer period of TAT.
