With such innovative garments, many brands no longer focus solely on performance, but also on comfort. SGS defines comfort into thermoregulation, skin sensation, body movement, and psychological comfort.
Equipped with state-of-the-art wear comfort testing facilities and expertise, SGS can help to test fabric, fabric systems and finished garments to assess different aspects of performance that influence wear comfort.

Functional Claim & Description of Test
- Breathable
The test is to measure the moisture permeability of a garment fabric.
- Instant Cool
The test is to validate the cool hand feel when touching the fabric.
- Moisture Management
This test is for the measurement, evaluation and classification of liquid moisture management properties of textile fabrics.
- Quick Dry
The test is aimed at evaluating the drying rate of a garment fabric.
- Thermal Resistance
The test is to measure the thermal insulation or warmness of the material.
- Wicking
The test is to evaluate the property of a textile sample to wick moisture (perspiration) away from body skin.

Item Care:
Test will be repeated before and after item care, please choose according to the care label that will be put together with your product. If your sample is expected for one-time use only or no cleaning procedure allowed, please contact us for assistance.
Washable – Test sample as received and after washes.
Drycleanable – Test sample as received and after commercial dryclean.
Washable & Drycleanable – Test sample as received, after wash and after commercial dryclean.
Remarks
The test items will be adjusted depending on your product type and age range. Only specific test items will be applied on selected product type, test type and destination market. Detailed test item list will be included in order confirmation email upon purchase.
