The 'Quality Pet Protection (QPP)' Scheme is established by the IBH Hong Kong, in collaboration with SGS and Pet Sapce. The aim is to elevate the quality standards within the pet industry and ensure the health and wellbeing of pets. This scheme is available for following scopes of applicates,
- Pet product traders or distributors
- Pet product manufacturers
- Brands
- Pet service providers
What kind of services can SGS provide under 'QPP' Scheme?
SGS, as a scheme secretary and operator, offers different streams of quality assurance from pet raising, food, supplements, accessories, to pet services, helping our customers build up and maintain a competitive advantage in the pet industry.
Pet Cosmetics
Formulation review:
- Assessed by toxicologist
- Evaluate formulation safety to pets
- Review the hazard, exposure and risk of the product
Product testing:
- Physiochemical test
- Microbiological test
- Chemical analysis
- Packaging test
Pet Food
Nutritions evaluation:
- Nutrition, Vitamins, Minerals
- With refererence to The association of American Feed Contraol Officials (AAFCO) & European Pet Food Industry Federation (FEDIAF)
- Conclusive comments by Vet
Safety evaluation:
- Microbiological testing
- Chemical testing
Evaluation:
- Verification on nutrional and safety data
- Suitability of targeted breed, age and/or weight
