Service Scope

For many markets, sunglasses are not considered as only fashion items but also with a protective function. Therefore, manufacturers must ensure that their products comply with all regulations individual governing bodies have imposed and are monitored strictly for different markets.

 Companies can remove these risks by submitting their products for specialized tests against key factors. Testing for UV protection, scratch and impact resistance, fit, and nickel release, etc. will ensure the eyewear meets industry standards and fulfills consumer expectations. 

 The test will be conducted in compliance with the following standards

  • Nickel Release 
  • Lead

  • ANSI Z80.3 (US) Standard

For children products in the US, additional testing shall be required: 

  • CPSC Physical and Mechanical Test (US) Standard   
  • CPSC Flammability to solid (US) 
  • CPSIA Total Lead content (US) 
  • Tracking Label (US)

Test Description

There are specific standards required to be tested for compliance in the US and EU markets. Therefore, the following tests will be included according to the US / EU market test package.  

For items designed for children, CPSIA according to U.S. regulation shall be performed to ensure the safety requirements specific to children.

Major chemical-related regulation in the market according to EU regulation 

ANSI Z80.3 (US) & Lens Impact Resistance (Drop Ball Test) 21 CFR 801.410 (US) 

A Physical and mechanical standard for ensuring the performance of sunglasses according to US standard & US regulation 

CPSC Physical and Mechanical Test (US) 

Physical safety testing applied for items designed for children under 12 years of age or below 

CPSC Flammability to solid (US) 

Flammability testing applied for items designed for children under 12 years of age or below 

CPSIA Total Lead content (US) 

Total Lead content shall be tested according to CPSIA for children items 

CPSIA Tracking Label (US) 

Tracking Label shall be required on both product & packaging for children products 

Prop 65 Court Case (US California) 

Chemical testing according to US California Proposition 65. The specific court case will be selected.  


Only applicable test items will be conducted on selected product nature and destination market. A detailed test item list will be included in order confirmation email upon order purchase.
